Stacy Downs has a thing for black and white: classic films, dramatic interiors and the written word.

Stacy is the editor of The Kansas City Star's House + Home section. In 2010, the National Association of Real Estate Editors named the section the best home or real estate section in the country.

Work has included consumer, design and travel articles for national magazines, and consultations on family history books to make them more stylish, relevant and personal. She is a frequent contributor to Ink, a Kansas City-based culture and entertainment magazine.

She lives in Overland Park, Kan., with her husband, Richard Espinoza, and their children.
